At the Bottom

We spent Monday night and all day Tuesday at the Phantom Ranch (history, map & walking tour). It gave us a chance to rest, relax, and take much more than the recommended daily dose of ibuprofen. On Tuesday, many people, even Jason and his freakin' broken ankle, went on side hikes. Jason and Karen did a 2-3 mile loop around the Colorado. Steve, Pete, and Jill investigated Phantom Creek canyon. And Tim and Liz went on a 12 mile roundtrip to see Ribbon Falls. My ambition was focused on trying to get some feeling back in my legs by soaking them in Bright Angel Creek!
A wonderful sunrise (except it shows both the Inner Gorge and the South Rim (in the distance) which we will have to ascend the next day)...
Our cabin outside and in. We had sheets, towels, air conditioning, and no mice. Kind of like home!

Now, I would spend more time on my own aches and pains to impress you with my fortitude and accomplishments, but, Jason, with his freakin' broken ankle, has taken some of the wind out of my sails. However, I did promise to put a close-up of my toe on this site
