Grand Canyon Trips

Many years ago, I hiked the Grand Canyon not once, not twice, but three times! I created websites for both the 2000 and 2003 trips (click the dates below to see pictures from the three trips). For all three hikes, I took the same route -- the South Kaibab Trail down, two nights at the Phantom Ranch, and then the Bright Angel Trail back up (basically starting on the bottom right side of the map below and following the red path all the way, eventually, to the bottom left. During the 2006 hike, several people hiked down from the North Rim and joined us at the Phantom Ranch and then we all hiked out up the Bright Angel Trail. Primarily organized by Jill with her friends and family, I took the last spot. Mark tried to get me to train, but I wasn't a good student and had some trouble at the end of both hikes!

This trip included a lot of my friends from different times in my life, so it was a lot of fun. Mark essentially ensured we all made it home alive. I actually trained for this hike and it really made a difference.

After constantly telling friends what an incredible experience this hike is, we had to organize one more trip. Five people decided to hike down from the North Rim on the North Kaibab Trail.
